Maxwell Alexander’s new collection of digital paintings explores sexuality and homoeroticism in ways never seen before. The artist, known for his skillful use of theatrical lighting in his fine art photography, has long been considered one of the best male boudoir photographers in New York City. His latest release of NFT digital paintings only cements his status as one of the most interesting NFT artists working today and one to watch out for in the future.
The most daring erotic NFT gallery to date
Maxwell L. Alexander brings a fresh voice to New York’s and global NFT homoerotic scene. The provocative works on display defy gender and sexual stereotypes with clear homoerotic overtones in his digital AI-powered paintings featuring raw testosterone-pumping responses. My body of work is about exploring the ancient beauty of an ideal athletic Greek silhouette combined with sexual identity and asking what it means to be gay when one doesn’t fit into any sort of box that even the LGBTQI community has made for ourselves – says artist Maxwell Alexander as he describes his purpose behind each piece he creates for the new NFT collection; a culmination of blood flowing through athletic veins, emotion, hormones, sexuality, and self-realization.
The artist explains how he manages to present imagery that is both hyper-masculine and homoerotic
I want my work to be authentic and to reflect my personal experiences. I draw from masculine sources in all aspects, whether it be cultural or mythological. My work will always have an overt male-centered theme, just because this is something I am obsessed with. Each piece explores sexuality and homoeroticism in its own way, yet there is a consistent artistic language that permeates through every composition. This body of work tells his story about male identity with stunningly gorgeous imagery, proving that being a man isn’t just one thing.
How does he manage to make such explicit content subtle?
There’s a long tradition in fine art to infuse otherwise taboo subject matter with meaning, leaving it up to a viewer’s imagination. In Maxwell’s paintings and photography, these sexual elements take on classical forms with the help of Artificial Intelligence. The collab allows Maxwell to focus on creating the concepts, messages, scenes, and lighting through his photography, and the AI takes on converting it into beautiful digital paintings. However, there is plenty of penetration and cocks, as well as non-explicitly erotic figures that imply what they can’t actually show. This subtlety leaves room for viewers to project their own thoughts onto each image and open conversations about sexuality while maintaining an element of class and sophistication, while the raw and in-your-face cocks and butts are a reminder for everyone that there isn’t anything unnatural with sexual organs. It’s society’s antiquated norms and dogmas that cause so much harm, not the dicks and butts.
Maxwell shares his thoughts on masculinity, power, and eternal beauty
Art is a way to express all these emotions we have but don’t know how to talk about or show. Through my art, I am able to put my energy and ideas into images that people can take away with them and relate to on their own level. I believe in leaving some things left up for interpretation so that each person who views my work can think about it and decide what it means to them.
